1. Discuss the ideas that have helped mankind.
Ans. The ideas have helped mankind in many ways. These ideas can be divided into two categories: those that contribute to knowledge and technique, and those that are concerned with moral and politics. The most important and difficult step taken before the down of history was the use of language. At what stage language began is not known, but it is sure it began very gradually. With the help of it we would have to take from one generation to the next the inventions and discoveries that were gradually made.
Utilization of fire was the another great step which may have either before or after the beginning of language. I suppose that at first it was chiefly used to keep away wild beasts while our ancestors slept. Fire was not only meant for promoting warmth but also used for cooking. In course of time, human beings progressed. Civilization tought us to be friendly towards others. Human beings are the most developed creatures of the world. They have ideas which help them to improve in life.
2. How are human beings different from animals? Explain.
Ans. Human beings are quite different from animals. There are some basic intellectual and moral qualities that separate the human beings from animals. Human beings have greater imagination and forthought than animals. Animals can not think like human beings. Human beings are affected by sufferings and enjoyments of their fellow beings.
They have highly sensitive power. The human beings are one of the most developed and advanced creature of this world. Human beings moral and intellectual qualities make them different from animals.
3. How has the civilization helped us? Discuss.
Ans. The civilization has helped us in many ways. In ancient time we hadn’t the knowledge of way of life. We were just like animals. The civilization has taught us to be more friendly towards one another. The civilization has made us developed, We are more friendly to each other within the herd. Human beings take some great steps that make them civilized. The invention of fire and agriculture was a more advanced step. Language helps mankind to hand on their experiences, thoughts, inventions to next generation. Thus, civilization played an important role in our life.
4. Is it important for us to be civilized? Give examples of the civilized behaviour that you practise in your everyday life.
Ans. There is no doubt that it is important for us to be civilized. Civilization is defined as the way of life. It distinguish man from beasts. We wear clean clothes and great everyone and say please, thank you, that is civilization. This shows us as a civilized person. The most important thing to be civilized is to obey the laws. Law provides us security which is essential to creat new and beautiful things. We should try to be civilized in our behaviour.
